Your first code is overwhelming. Roles emerge. Here's what to expect.
Roles
Code leader (usually physician). Compressions (rotate q2 min). Recorder. Med pusher. Airway. Runner.
Your role
If new, often compressions or runner. Speak up if you need to switch. Don't pretend competency you don't have.
After
Debrief if offered. Ask about anything you didn't understand. Use the experience for ACLS recertification.
