Moving states with active RN license has two paths: Compact or endorsement.
Compact (NLC)
If you live in and have license in a Compact state, you can practice in other Compact states without re-licensing. Single license, multistate privilege.
Endorsement
Non-Compact moves require endorsement application in new state. Background check, fees, sometimes additional jurisprudence exam. 4-12 weeks processing.
When to start
Begin endorsement 3+ months before moving if possible.
