The first 7 days of NCLEX prep

Don't skip the setup. The first week of NCLEX prep is for diagnostic baseline, system selection, and routine, not crushing questions.

The first week of NCLEX prep sets the curve for everything after. Skip the setup and you'll waste week 3 figuring out what you should have done in week 1.

Day 1: baseline mock

75 questions, exam conditions, no notes. Score it. Note your two weakest test-plan categories. Don't react emotionally to the number, it's just a starting point.

Days 2-3: pick your tools

Question bank (UWorld, Archer, NR, pick one primary, optionally add a second). Audio lecture series (Mark Klimek, RegisteredNurseRN). Spaced-repetition tool (Anki for raw memorization, or your app's built-in mistake bank). Don't pile on more, three is plenty.

Days 4-7: build the routine

40 questions/day. 30 min content review on your two weakest categories. Mistake bank started, every wrong answer logged with failure mode.

Frequently asked

Should I do any prep before day 1?

No. The baseline mock is meaningful only if it's a true cold start. Do it first.

What if my baseline is below 50%?

Extend your total runway by 4 weeks. Don't compress.
