Introduction

Nursing Ready ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile application ("Nursing Ready" or the "App") and our website (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account and use our Service, we may collect the following information that you voluntarily provide:

• Account Information: Your name, email address, and password when you register for an account using email and password.
• Authentication Provider Identifiers: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the identifier and the name/email scope you authorize through that provider. We never receive your password for those accounts.
• Exam Information: Your scheduled or target NCLEX-RN exam date, study frequency, confidence ratings, and motivation, which are used to generate your personalized study plan.
• Study Data: Your answers to practice questions, quiz results, mistake bank entries, flashcard progress, bookmarks, flagged items, custom flashcards, and other data generated through your use of the App's study features.
• Support Communications: Any information you provide when you contact us for customer support, including your email address and the content of your message.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain information, including:

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and locale.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App — features used, screens viewed, session duration, and general usage patterns — collected via PostHog product analytics.
• Crash and Performance Data: Stack traces, OS version, device model, and a stable user identifier collected via Firebase Crashlytics so we can group reports for your account and fix issues you encounter.
• Subscription Status: A stable anonymized user identifier shared with RevenueCat so we can determine whether your subscription is active, in trial, expired, or in a billing-issue state.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health data, or financial account information.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

Apple requires apps that engage in tracking to ask permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Nursing Ready does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), does not engage in cross-app or cross-website tracking, does not display advertising, and does not share data with data brokers. We surface the App Tracking Transparency prompt as a defensive disclosure; whether you allow or deny tracking, your choice is recorded as an event property on our internal analytics so we can verify our compliance, but it does not change what we collect.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Providing the Service: To create and manage your account, deliver personalized study plans, track your progress, surface adaptive practice and the daily mission, and provide the core functionality of the App.
• Personalization: To tailor your study experience based on your exam date, performance data, weak topics, and mistake patterns.
• Cross-Device Sync: To make your progress available across devices when you sign in to the same account.
• Analytics and Improvement: To understand how users interact with our Service in aggregate, identify trends, and improve the App's features, content, and user experience.
• Subscription Management: To process and manage your subscription, including entitlement checks and trial / renewal status.
• Communication: To send you important service-related notifications, such as account updates, security alerts, and changes to our terms or policies.
• Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and resolve issues.

All study questions, lessons, flashcards, rationales, and "AI Explainer" variants are pre-authored and shipped inside the App bundle. The App does not send your study activity to any AI model at runtime, and does not upload any photographs or other media you take with your device.

Cloud Sync

So you can resume your study on another device, the App periodically uploads a snapshot of your study progress (mistake bank, topic mastery, daily mission state, flashcard progress, bookmarks, flagged questions, custom flashcards, dismissed insights, and your in-app preferences) to your private Nursing Ready account in Firebase Firestore. Sync runs on quiz completion and approximately every two minutes while the App is in the foreground. The most recent snapshot wins on conflicts. The data is associated only with your authenticated user identifier and is not shared with other users.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party service providers to operate and improve our Service. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by their own privacy commitments:

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase Authentication for sign-in, Cloud Firestore for cloud sync of your study progress, Firebase Crashlytics for crash and performance diagnostics, Firebase Remote Config for feature flags, and Firebase Hosting for our website. PostHog

We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with the App and to improve our Service. PostHog collects de-identified usage events such as feature usage, screen views, and session information. PostHog does not track you across other apps or websites and is not used for advertising. Before any event is sent, the App strips banned keys (such as email, phone, name, and display name), masks email-shaped strings, and truncates long fields. RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions, trials, and purchase restoration. RevenueCat receives a stable anonymized user identifier and your subscription / entitlement state. RevenueCat does not have access to your payment card details — payments are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. For more information, visit revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple

If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple provides us only the identifier and name / email scope you authorize. If you make a purchase, Apple processes the transaction; Apple's App Store privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

Google Sign-In

If you choose Sign in with Google, Google provides us the identifier and name / email scope you authorize. Google's privacy practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We do not display advertisements in the App and do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.

We may disclose your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We share information with the third-party service providers described above (Firebase, PostHog, RevenueCat, Apple, Google) solely for the purposes of operating and improving our Service.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, prevent fraud, or ensure the safety of our users.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure authentication protocols, and regular security reviews.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account from inside the App, we immediately remove your authentication record and locally stored study data on the device, and remove your cloud-synced study data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes, fulfilling Apple's billing audit requirements, or enforcing our agreements).

Anonymized and aggregated analytics data that cannot be used to identify you may be retained indefinitely for service improvement purposes.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by emailing us at the address below.
• Correction: You can update your display name and exam information at any time inside the App via Profile and Settings.
• Deletion: You can delete your account directly inside the App at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. The flow requires a typed confirmation. On confirmation, the App immediately wipes your study data stored on the device, signs you out of RevenueCat, and deletes your Firebase Authentication record. Server-side cleanup of any cloud-synced study data is processed within 30 days.
• Data Export: You can request a one-time export of your study data by contacting us at the email address below.
• App Tracking Transparency (iOS): You can deny the App Tracking Transparency prompt or change your decision later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS. We do not engage in cross-app tracking regardless of your choice.
• Subscription Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your Apple ID subscription settings on your device.

Children's Privacy

Nursing Ready is designed for adult users who are preparing for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination. Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Because our Service is intended exclusively for adult nursing students and graduates, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) are not applicable to our Service.

International Users

If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
